@UmiRose thank you for your perspective. I actually am aware of the years of oppression and discrimination, and I did not imagine those cruelties toward LGBTQIA folk were gone or in any way remote. I wasn't at all surprised by the legislation (though still disappointed). I simply chose to tell this story from an inside-the-family perspective, as this is the part of the journey/story that is fully our own. With all goodwill -- Jennifer
